Growing rapidly since 2001 and it is now officially easier for your kids to buy drugs than get a library card. That little factlet bug anyone else?

It's been easier to buy drugs than get a library card for at least 40 years.

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to untolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?

Very true...I'm a cop(to pay the bills) and it seems like the shocker is finding people who don't use drugs.

The suppliers from Mexico and South America have introduced a much cheaper "hit" for Americans and have taken over the US illegal drug market.
It used to be the Golden Triangle and Afganistan were the power hitters, but the Latinos have powerfully taken over.(talk about another reason to take back our borders...)

Also, officially, the larger terrorist groups have admitted to selling drugs to America for much less than their normal street value just to help destroy us.
They feel it's worth losing money if it causes Americans to become further addicted and rot internally as a nation....seems to be working.

    Indeed it has spilled...

How many troops do we have in Afghanistan? How many more will it take to control the opium harvest?

If it's known how many acres are harvested, then it must be known where the opium is growing. So if the US had a true interest in destroying it, has troops on the ground, and the means to destroy it, why is it not??

If a 15 year old kid can find the drugs, why can't the police?

I doubt "we'll" ever control the opium crop. It's a source of revenue. If we pay them to grow alternative crops, they'll just grow those crops and grow opium too. The only solution is to bring back the heroic Taliban to cut off their heads. Then everything will be perfect and the world will love us again.

Well, "We" found a way to control Saddam. It's a matter of resolve, I'm contending that a lot of the effort put into the "war on drugs" is for show, and if there was ever a serious resolve to handle the problem, it could be dealt with. I am questioning the resolve of those who are brokering the power and massive buget (deficit?) to truly eradicate the opium trade. In the end, they always seem to take the money.
