Default Face to Face with Bob Crowley of Crowley & Tripp Microphones

What do meteorites, Rosemary Clooney, nanotechnology and the floor lining of 1950s Oldsmobiles have in common? You're about to find out.

This interview with Bob Crowley of Crowley & Tripp Microphones was conducted in Tucson, AZ at TapeOpCon 2007 by Lynn Fuston of 3D Audio. Crowley & Tripp is an innovative new company specializing in making new ribbon microphones. Bob and I discuss the history and traditional applications for ribbon microphones along with how technological developments will effect their manufacture and use in the future.

    Length: 45 minutes.

ADDENDUM: Bob Crowley emailed me with this one disclaimer:

I made an error - the shutter material in the 77DX is phosphorous bronze, not beryllium copper.

Very interesting interview. Just re-listening now. Just realized that this interview was before the "official" introduction of their nano-tube ribbon material.
