Don and "sloop" thanks for the kind words!

Just finished a meeting with the artist. We listened down to the raw tracks. There are a few spots that are going to be a little dicey to work around (tuning, noises, etc.) but over all we are pleased with what we have to work with. I need to post some pictures of my little setup for you all to see. It certainly isn't what I'd like to have for doing a big budget classical recording but I've been able to make it work for this little $0 budget project

Here's the intro to one of the songs that has full brass, winds and strings. Once again... this has the fake piano, no violin and these are the raw tracks... very slight amount of level adjustment (because really... have you ever met a "quiet" brass player?!?!? )

Should be nice once we tighten things up and and put in some Perc. to fill it out.

I'll try and get some pics up. I've just been super busy editing this and working on another album up here this week as well.

    Dave:
looking forward to the pictures. I started shooting video at every on location I do. I either hire someone to do it or just set the camera up and let it run. What a great tool for remembering things technically or nostalgically.

Again, great stuff and I am really enjoying the log here.

I like the video camera idea. I shot off some pics between each section setup and tear down. We are going to do 5 more songs with the strings this Sunday. I might see if I can roll a little video with my little digital camera.

This has been quite a busy week. I was up till 3am cutting BGVs and lead vocals on a church album. We have 5 more songs to do tonight. I have to pick up a couple of Perc overdubs this afternoon (and possibly a flute thing that need to be re-cut). Tomorrow I'm painting the exterior of my in-laws house and on Sat. I'll be doing some music for an aunt's wedding. Then Sunday I set it all back up to do the strings.

Here's a couple of shots of the "choir" we put together for the church album I'm working on. Had about 55 people show up... that was a great deal of fun! I was talking to someone that works near the church where we did the choir overdubs and he said you could hear everyone singing from 2-3 blocks away. fun!

    Dave:

Very nice. A Compline CD that I tracked in January and have been editing and mixing since February is about to be released - I love doing sacred choral projects - For me Compline is the top of the list when doing SC.

I loved your 'booth' ... oh the humble places we work. During the Compline sessions in January - one of the weekends I was in a confessional with the assistant producer - very cozy.
