    Default RFID: The new Floride?

This must have somehow escaped 3dB's attention:

The spy satellites will be looking for YOU and there WILL BE forced re-education camps if you don't re-cycle.

One must admit that despite all the rhetoric and fear-mongering over Bush-era privacy invasions, the current administration has done little to stem the tide of Big Brother run amok...

Some places in France have been using the chip in the garbage container (which are made from recycled plastic and are as tough as nails) for years now. It checks and records the weight of the garbage you put out every year and if you recycle or not, this is then used to determine the amount of local taxes you pay for the next year; put out a lot of garbage, you pay more taxes, put out less garbage, you pay less taxes.

The spy satellites are only used to check that you're not throwing your garbage into your neighbors bins, which will result in a public flogging if caught.

What happens if you throw away too many chips?

I would make sure my chip suddenly stopped working - I have a magnet that could probably knock if offline...

Magnets are good. Do you remember those white, bar code strips stuck to checks back in the day? We would run magnets across the bottom of checks so they would take a day or two longer to........

    Never mind.
