    Default sultry female vocalist

I liked this gals voice so much I found myself wanting to do as little as possible to distract from her performance.

Putting on the Producers hat was wondering how you guys might have approached this song ie instrumentation and building of the song?

Forgot to mention- she recorded this just singing with her guitar I added the instruments. So any suggestions you have instrumentation wise, could be changed...

    Lovely!

Putting on the Producers hat I'd do three things:

    #1 Mute the shaker
#2 Mute most of the guitar single notes in the right channel
#3 Reduce the reverb on vocals just a bit.

Thx Lynn, wish I had contacts to get her a listen from the big guys who could do something for her.

Andreas- Thx for the input, If its not to much to ask if you could give a counter number, not sure if you mean muting the guitar on the palmed muted notes or open played notes?

Jim, that's exactly what I meant. I was about to leave for a meeting and the right english expression didn't cross my mind.
IMHO the palmed mutes and the shaker distract too much from her performance.

The open played notes on the guitar are very nice though!

    Best regards

ok thx for clarifying I will try this out. Funny thing is once you pointed those things out and I listened again, OMG "he's right"
appreciate your ears, you must have been doing this kind of thing for awhile...

About half the artists that walk in the door play guitar or piano and sing with out a band. They say things like, I want to sing this song to my boy/girl friend and most times the songs are very good. Kind of one hit wonders...
