    Default Thanksgiving for being alive--

Perhaps sounds strange, but 2 years ago yesterday I was clinically dead-- my heart had been cooled to the point of stopping and my brain had to be bypassed by the heart/lung machine for 30 minutes-- they did not know if I would be "normal" when I awoke from 8 hours of surgery to 1) replace aortic valve 2) prevent aortic aneurism by replacing 8 inches of aorta 3) aortic dissection stopped. It has taken 2 years to really be able to say "I am recovered"-- and thanks be to God that He chose to spare my life through a procedure that I had about a 10% chance of surviving. But with a sovereign God I really had a 100% chance of things being just the way they were supposed to be.

I remember well the day your wife posted on this board about what had happened. I was shocked and then much relieved to hear how well you were doing, especially against those sobering odds.

Here's looking forward to many more years of you enjoying your life!
