That's the reality these days in the music business. How are you preparing for that new reality?

I'm not buying any new gear, for starters.

There is nothing new about it. In the 80s when the studios went to war with each other and with the emerging higher quality home studios, you could get a mega dollar room in LA for $1 per track hour. And I'm talking rooms that went for an hourly rate which I cannot remember off-hand, but was many times more than a dollar per track/hour.

The elites have squandered the country's wealth on two of the costliest and most useless wars in American history while blithely pretending that the environmental crisis doesn't exist. We no longer have any mechanisms within the formal structures of power that will protect or advance our rights.

Shut down my own operation, went to work for someone. Sold most of my assets, kept the softwares, all options on the table

I keep trying to make my location package be just enough to do what's needed with a few backups. Leaner I run the better the clients seem to like it. In the studio I seem to be about selling off stuff more than buying much of anything now. My studio rig now looks more like a picture editing system than a mix system.

I've made my expenses be as low as they can.
