    Default Most Excellent Picking...

I know at least some of you are guitar pickers... and probably all of us have recorded more than a few. I saw this promoted on the Kim Kommando site. Pretty cool. Almost makes me wish I hadn't traded the D-28.

Except I can't even think about playing like this dude.

    Mark Koos. Enjoy.

Finally, somebody does the tapping thing who isn't a metal shredder. Nice to hear that technique done with taste. Of course it would be even nicer to hear it done NOT on a piezo-equipped Ovation, but that's a personal pet peeve.
So do you have to be schizophrenic to split your brain sufficiently to do something like this?

Haha! Pianists do it, so why not a stringed instrument?

Great pianists do it with one hand in seven and the other in four (or something like that) a la Hornsby's "two-hand independence" in the likes of "King of the Hill" and "Spider Fingers/Tempus Fugit". If you haven't heard them... you must. Crazy good. My wife (a life-long pianist and career teacher) was slack-jawed at his solo performance here about 18 months ago. "It's one thing to hear it on an album... it's another thing entirely to watch him do it", she said.
