Default Fostex D-160 16-track Hard Disk recorder w/ ADAT I/O

For sale: Fostex D-160 hard disk recorder.

A neat 16-track digital hard disk recorder. Lots of features (editing, undo, copy, paste, etc.) ahead of its time. This unit has 8 analog inputs and 16 analog outputs (all unbalanced RCA -10). It also has 16 ADAT I/O, which allows you to record 16 tracks simultaneously with or without the 8 analog inputs. Another neat feature of these units was the 8 additional tracks you could record per Project. So, on a single project, you could have 24 total tracks (only 16 active at a time). It's biggest "negative" in today's digital world is it is only 16-bit. But, my recordings made on this unit still hold their own against what I've done since. This recorder (or the ones I've used since) hasn't been the limiting factor on my sound quality.

It comes with an extra hard drive and caddy, and the extension cable to turn the front panel into a full featured remote control unit!

I also have the original box and owner's manual. If you need an optical cable or two, I can throw a couple of those in, too!

Asking $150 (includes UPS shipping to CONUS). Paypal OK.

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to untolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
