I've recorded several CD projects for clients who financed through Kickstarter campaigns. These tend to be people who are good at raising cash by other means as well.

My interested was stirred when I found out about this campaign and its success. A $200K goal that went on to $530K. Wow.

I would have thought a long-term artist like that would have spent more on a serious 'final' project. (Mind you, I'm out of touch with label budgets these days.)
Am I the only one without a small type signature?

Evil Plan: (assume dastardly palm rubbing here)

A: Kickstart a porn movie and promise every $200 donor that they can be on set for all filming.
B: Once i raise $300k, disappear from the Internet.
C: Buy some expensive hardware compressors, eq's and maybe a new BMW.
