Default The hunt for a new space begins. Oh boy!!

This is exciting. I get to start from scratch.

Current forerunner is a basement that measures 12' x 26' x 7'3". Great dimensions except for the height, but very workable. I won't see it until next weekend so I'm not sure if it will works with regards to mechanical systems, etc. But it's big enough that I could carve out a nice vocal/ac guitar booth (putting up a divider wall) and still have a big control room, which is what I'll primarily need for mixing.

The space I've been using measures 11'9" x 13'6". And it's very workable with a desk and two chairs and a 48" tall rack of gear.

Forgot to mention that the basement is attached to a 1932 two-story brick home with plaster walls, wood floors and a tall staircase. Could provide some interesting sonic options.

Audio engineers evaluate homes differently, huh?

So, since inquiring minds want to know, do you get to stay in the Nashville area, or is the new studio up North?

Pretty sure the guys at Sweetwater have a lead... Ted Hunter is building out a space in his home, so check with him.

BTW, Ted is one of the most genuine folks I know...please take the time to look him up.

I've been looking around myself and do the exact same thing. Room dimensions/ratios, utilities, structural features...All in consideration of "How good will this room sound?" or "How much isolation can I get here?" or "How can I get some tie lines from here to that room?"

Happy hunting and please keep us posted on 3DAudio Ft. Wayne.
