Probably because the tracking was excellent!!. . . the project has already been mixed without my help. In LA, no surprise. By an assistant engineer at the producer's home studio on a Digi 001 system.
Increasingly people use my "project studio" to track - mainly because of preamps, mic collection, and a 9 foot concert grand piano; vibe/history/"celebrity" of the space. Then they mix it themselves in protools LE, with results that are so bad as not to be believed.
This is the present and the future. I guess the good news for pro studios is that most home studios are behind the curve in terms of DVD (audio + video) authoring; most home studios can't track really huge ensembles.

Good slide show. I wish I had 10% of their gear list.

Threads like this, with outdated picture links to studios that no longer exist, make me sad.
I wish I'd grabbed the photos instead of just offering links.
