    Default Preamp Summit-Oh my gosh!!

I just finished the table that lists all the preamp manufacturers, the units, and the values. I couldn't help but total it all up. Remember that this total doesn't count both of George Massenburg's $25,000 line mixers or the test gear or the studio gear or the mics. This is just the preamps.

The total for the preamps alone was $150,585. That's list price with estimates for the vintage pieces.

That's a lot of preamps. That's a lot of money.

A total of 108 channels sitting right there.

I've been slapped for saying this (in a different context)...

    Nice rack...are they real?

We're really close on the artwork for the Preamp Summit. I can't wait to show it off at AES. I'll have a few copies of the absolutely, almost, "as close as you can get to final" final with me there. Enough for the sponsors at least. And one for me to show off.

After an 18 month gestation period, you can bet I'll be proud. And exhausted.

Thanks to you, I can now identify pretty much every unit I can clearly see in that picture.

I'm still not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing.
Am I the only one without a small type signature?

Very likely both. It may be good for your recordings and bad for your pocketbook.

Those are the Lipinskis without their beautiful finished cases.

They've had so much success with their speakers and amps, I honestly don't know if they ever got around to building any of those other than for the pictures you see. Last time I talked to Andrew, he said "Soon." Of course, that's the same thing he's said before. I ask him about once a year, usually at trade shows.
