Oh, no! I'm currently listening through a budget D-A that's hyped in the highs. Suddenly, the darker choices are sounding better, and the really true sources (like K) are a bit ear-splitting.

My earlier favorite, R, doesn't shine through this lower-end converter. But L really does shine nowm though L wasn't blowing me away earlier.

E, interestingly, is superb in both cases. It's the one preamp that has grown on me the most through the last few weeks. It's undeniably smooth and detailed and, to coin a phrase, ahhhh-some.

I know the cause of my change in opinion, but it's troubling nonetheless.

I wonder how I'd feel listening through a Lavry Gold and ADAMs....
