    Default Daking vs Trident

I could hear a major difference between these two on the acoustic guitar.

One of them(not sure if I'm allowed to say) sounded really 'wrong'....like there was something technically wrong with the preamp. Or like certain frequencies were completely erased from existence. It was enough to furrow my brow and go "what the heck is that? That doesn't sound right...."

If I had the unit in my possession I would probably sent it out for repair based on that recording alone.

    Anyone else hear that?

I've had them side by side and while there is a difference (the Daking sounds "cleaner") it's not a night and day difference.

more like fraternal but not identical twins.

Hmmm....I suspect my monitoring environment may be exaggerating the differences(Sony MDR-7506 headphones).

Maybe not such a bad thing - interesting the headphones show up more radical differences.

I agree that there's a radical difference--so much, in fact, that I suspect the playing is the culprit, especially since you hear more or less of that nice "twang" from one of the middle strings across the different performances.

You're right--one of them sounds great, and the other "wrong," to my ears.

While I'm at it, what about "K" on acoustic? Wow! That's astonishingly good.
